Itinerary

Day 1: London to Berlin

The holiday begins in London, where passengers travel by Eurostar to Brussels in Standard Premier Class. At Brussels, passengers change trains and travel First Class to Berlin via Cologne, before spending the night in a hotel in the city.

Day 2: Berlin to Warsaw

The second day is spent travelling furthe west into Poland, with the evening spent in the capital, Warsaw.

Day 3: Warsaw

The morning is spent at leisure, exploring the Polish capital. In the evening, travellers board an overnight sleeper train that travels to Moscow.

Day 4: Moscow

Travellers arrive in Moscow in the late afternoon, after a day watching the world go by on-board the sleeper train. Upon arrival, guests are transferred to their hotel, where they are greeted by a welcome reception and dinner.

Day 5: Moscow

The fifth day is spent exploring Moscow, including a tour of the city's most famous sites. In the evening, passengers board the Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express to begin the twelve night trip to teh eastern edge of Russia.

Day 6: Vladimir and Suzdal

Travellers' first stop is in Vladimir, where they visit the Uspensky Cathedral before travelling on to Suzdal. Travellers are treated to a choral performance and a horse-drawn sledge ride around the town.

Day 7: Yekaterinburg

Passengers pass across the border between Europe and Asia, arriving in Yekaterinburg. Travellers explore the city's main attractions before re-boarding the train.

Day 8: Novosibirsk

Travellers alight in Novosibirsk, which is the capital of Siberia. Here, they receive a guided tour of the city, which includes t trip to the Opera House and a statue of Lenin. Passengers re-board the train to continue their journey.

Days 9 and 10: Novosibirsk to Irkutsk

The whole of the ninth day is spent on-board the Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express, chatting with fellow passengers or simply enjoying your own time. On the tenth day, travellers arrive in Irkutsk, where they are treated to a guided tour of the city's main sights and attractions. Passengers are treated to a concert, before heading to Zaimka (Hunters Lodge) for a traditional meal in authentic wooden houses. Passengers re-bard the train to continue their journey.

Day 11: Lake Baikal

The Golden Eagle train travels around Lake Baikal, which is the world's largest freshwater lake. Thet rain travels through a series of tunnels and along a number of cliff-side tracks before stopping at the side of the lake to visit the Ice Festival. Travellers are transported across the lake by hovercraft to get their hands on a snow-mobile, or try a traditional dog ride. An alternative is for travellers to try ice-fishing.

Day 12: Ulan Ude

The train arrives in Ulan Ude on the twelfth day, where travellers visit the Old Believer's Village. Passengers re-board the train to continue their journey.

Day 13: Ulan Bator

The epic journey continues, arriving on the thirteenth day in Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia. Passengers are treated to a tour of the city before being served lunch in a yurt.

Days 14 to 16: Siberia

The next few days are spent on-board the train, as it travels across Siberia. On the sixteenth day, the train reaches its most easterly point. Passengers enjoy a farewell dinner on-board before retirig for the final night on-board.

Day 17: Vladivostok

The journey on-board the Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express train concludes today as it arrives in Vladivostok. Passengers are take for a tour of the city before heading to their hotel for the final night of the holiday.

Day 18: Flight to London

The final day is spent on the return trip to London. Unless passengers fancy another 18 days on-board the train, or taking the slightly shorter Trans-Siberian Railway trip, they travel by plane via Moscow.

Passengers travelling on this holiday will need a visa to enter Russia and Mongolia, as well as a transit visa to travel through Belarus. The cost of this is not included within the holiday price.
